What If Mediumship Begins with Love?

For over 25+ years, I've had the privilege of sitting with people seeking a reading.
Some come because they're curious.
Some because they're celebrating a new chapter in life.
Many come carrying grief.
They've lost someone they deeply love and long to know that the relationship continues beyond physical death. They ache to hear one more message. One more reassurance. One more reminder that love has not ended.
Being able to bring through evidence and messages from loved ones in Spirit is one of the greatest privileges of my life. Yet over the years, I found myself asking:
What do I hope remains after the reading is over?
Of course I hope people leave comforted and I hope they feel their loved one's presence.
But most importantly, I want them to leave knowing that they, too, are connected with the unseen - with something bigger than themselves. Something bigger than their grief. That became my own longing and it eventually changed the way I begin each reading. Let me explain.
Before I look for a loved one in Spirit, I quietly become aware of another loving presence accompanying the person sitting in front of me. Some people call that presence Spirit Guides. Others say Angels, Higher Self, Divine Presence, or something else entirely. To be honest, I no longer feel the need to decide exactly what to call it.
What has become unmistakably clear to me is the quality of the relationship.
When I genuinely encounter that presence, I experience patience.
Gentleness.
Compassion.
A love that asks nothing in return.
So I begin with one simple question:
"What do you absolutely love about this person?"
It's not asked simply to make someone feel good. It's asked so they can experience what it feels like to be truly known and deeply loved. It’s asked with the intention to show that the person is known and loved. I have asked that question countless times.
The answers are never generic.
They're deeply personal.
Sometimes they describe the quiet kindness no one else notices.
Sometimes they celebrate a person's resilience.
Sometimes they point to the smallest acts of love that the individual never imagined mattered.
And almost every time, I watch something soften in the room.
Not because the person has received information, but because, for a few moments, they have experienced what it feels like to be seen without judgment. To be known. To be loved.
I've come to believe that every genuine piece of evidence Spirit offers is ultimately expressing the same truth:
I know you.
I see you.
I love you.
Perhaps that's one of the deepest gifts a reading can offer.
Not simply proof that life continues. Which it does.
But the quiet remembrance that we have never been separate from Love.
And if mediums can leave others carrying that with them, then perhaps the conversation with Spirit doesn't end when the appointment is over. Perhaps it has only just begun.

But you don't need a medium to discover what Spirit loves about you.
I invite you to take a moment right now.
Close your eyes. Take a slow breath. Then gently ask:
"What do you absolutely love about me?"
Don't search for an answer.
Simply notice what arises.
